New Deal is a government programme designed to give unemployed people the help and support they need to get back to work. If you are eligible you will be assigned an adviser from Jobcentre Plus who will help you at every stage of New Deal. They will check how you are doing and help you plan what to do next. This could be face to face or on the phone.
During 2010 New Deal will be replaced in some areas by “Flexible New Deal”. Your personal adviser will tell you if this applies in your area. You should talk to your personal adviser if you are not sure about something or you have a question.
To find out if there are New Deal opportunities in social care in your local area ask at your nearest Job Centre or visit: www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/JCP
If you are aged between 18 and 24 years, and currently receiving Jobseekers Allowance, your recruiting employer may be eligible for a subsidy. Employers can find out more by going to www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/carefirstcareers
