The role: Social care is about helping people live their lives. Some people often require a little extra practical help. Social care workers provide this practical support to help people maintain their independence and lead fuller lives. Helping out with everyday tasks can make a huge difference to someone's life, and yours too. More about the role
Job variety: Many social care workers are home care assistants
or work in residential care homes. But there's also a wide range of jobs
working with children, families and young people and people with disabilities.
Your employer could be a council, a small business or a voluntary organisation.
